The Spice Girls have been forced to release a statement denying that they are pulling out of a South American show, after a bogus email spread like wildfire.

The fake email, which was picked up by several Argentinean news agencies, said that the pop supergroup had axed a show in Buenos Aries in January.

However, quashing these claims, The Spice Girls’ camp said: “The fake email claims that due to the demand so far in the US and the UK this show is going to be cancelled.

“The emails goes on to say that they will be running some competitions for their South American fans to travel to the UK and watch a show.

“This is not the case and this email is 100% unofficial and has nothing to do with The Spice Girls.”
