My Bloody Valentine To Do A Radiohead For Comeback Album

My Bloody Valentine are the latest act to be contemplating a “Radiohead style” download release of their new album.

The band are currently working on their first long player since 1991’s ’Loveless’ and it seems they’ve been inspired by Thom Yorke and co.

Their manager Vinita Joshi told Billboard: "At the moment, all I can say is that Kevin (Shields) is getting the band back together and they will go into the studio next month to work on the new record.

"The plan is that they will release the album themselves via the Internet, but there will also probably be a vinyl release."

However, she added that MBV are unlikely to follow Radio head’s ‘pay what you like’ stance for the download.

MBV return to the live stage in the UK with a plethora of now sold out dates but Joshi says that there is no truth that the band are being lined up for Coachella.

"If the band had been booked to play any summer festivals, I'd know about it," she explained. "We'll see how the summer shows go first."
