Former Arab Strap man Malcolm Middleton’s attempts to grab the Christmas Number 1 spot are growing apace with the news that he now has shorter odds than Amy Winehouse.
The Falkirk miserablist releases his jovial yuletide ode ‘We’re All Going To Die’ on December 17 through Full Time Hobby.
He is fourth favourite to take this year’s coveted holiday season prize behind such luminaries as Shaun The Sheep and whoever the X Factor winner may be.
He started the week at 1000/1 according to William Hill, the longest odds they’d ever given for a Christmas Number 1 contender, but has now been shortened dramatically to 20/1.
The full list of odds are:
1. X-Factor - 2-7
2. Sugababes - 4-1
3. Soul Ja Boy - 7 -1
4. Sean The Sheep - 14-1
5. Andy Williams - 14-1
6. Malcolm Middleton - 20-1
7. Amy Winehouse - 23-1
