It seems everyone has an opinion on Radiohead’s release of ‘In Rainbows’ and those opinions are split between praise and scorn.
While Lily Allen thinks the band are “arrogant” and Tool’s Maynard James Keenan a “one trick pony” Jay Z is the latest musician to come out in praise of the pay-what-you-want download release.
He told the Guardian: “What Radiohead did with their album was a genius idea. I’m gonna pay $50 for it.”
Meanwhile, Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard has admitted that he couldn’t even download the album because Radiohead’s website was so busy.
He told Spinner: I went onto the Radiohead website and put myself in the queue to get the album. It took so long that in the end; I just went to the different blogs and downloaded it from there because I just wanted to hear it.
“Even though I’m part of a band that relies on people spending their own money for me to have a career, I didn’t pay any money to get that record.”
