Former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle has been jailed because he has failed to register on the sex offenders list.
The sticksman– real name Thomas Delmer Pyle – was charged in 1993 of sexual battery against two girls aged four and eight, but managed to avoid a life sentence after entering a plea bargain with prosecutors preventing the children from testifying in the case.
He was sentenced to eight years probation and ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
Pyle has now been arrested after it came to light that he hasn’t signed the register since 2001. He was caught after he applied for a driving licence and it has been alleged that he has moved address from Florida to North Carolina.
Police are currently holding him on a $10,000 bail in Florida.

He rides the coattails of a band he wasn’t even an original member of... hell, they kicked him out!

- I have known Artimus for 20 years. Marc, you know nothing about this man except what you’ve read in the tabloids. He is not a pervert. His wife, who I also knew for 2 years, went nuts, took advantage of him and set him up. He did not buy his way out because he has no money. Today he is in touch with his daughters who love him dearly. You should shut the hell up because you obviously know nothing, not even that HE quit the band, not the other way around. Loser.

- I just don’t think he’s a ’lester. Doesn’t add up..
- If he was innocent, why plead guilty to the charge... That doesn’t add up. I don’t care if I had to rot in jail for the rest of my life... if I was accused of such a horrific charge, like having sex with a 4 and 8 year old, I would stand and fight. Key word here is GUILTY by his own addmission in the plea bargain. This guy is a stain on society and I hope he stays the hell away from North Carolina. Now that we know his past, I doubt he’d be stupid enough anyway...

- I know Artimus Personally and the reason he didn’t plead not guilty was he didn’t want his kids dragged through the mudhole that his crazy wife created.The only thing Arite is guilty of is just being dumb
