The Cult are set to support Led Zeppelin on a 2008 tour, according to the band’s frontman Ian Astbury.
The singer broke the news (or maybe he was just winding us up?!) during a Cult show in Cincinnati on Saturday evening (November 17).
He told the crowd: "We'll be back next year because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ... the name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." To which the crowd shouted Led Zeppelin back.
Astbury’s comments will add fuel to the widespread speculations that rock titans Led Zeppelin will announce a 2008 tour following their one-off Ahmet Ertegun tribute show on December 10.
Representatives from the Led Zeppelin and The Cult camps have so far not commented.
