Death From Above 1979

Sebastien Grainger – Vocals/Drums
Jesse F. Keeler - Bass/Synthesizer

Toronto natives Grainger and Keeler met and formed Death From Above in 2001. They added the 1979 moniker after a name-inspired squabble with US DJ duo DFA. Their sound is a must-play-at-maximum-volume melange of funk and pop - a dance-friendly White Stripes, a Rapture with tunes et cetera.
Seb and Jes recorded debut album ´You´re a Woman, I´m a Machine´ during the months of February through to April in 2004. Released in October of that year in North America, it wasn´t available, import aside, to UK groovesters until February 2005. Noise never sounded so good.

After the North American release of ´You´re a Woman, I´m a Machine´, DFA 1979 secured support slots on Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails tours, two of their biggests idols. They opened to ecstatic acclaim. And wherever they played, Grainger and Keeler partied like, you guessed it, 1979.
