Castle Donington’s finest, Late of the Pier, have hit out at outspoken Coventry upstarts The Enemy, a band far more used to dishing out the odd tongue lashing themselves.
Lured by Gigwise into naming their least favourite band on the scene, Andrew Faley from the four piece was quick to blurt: “It’s got to be The Enemy- they’re just shit.” Will these kids ever learn?
Elsewhere in the interview, Faley said that Late of the Pier categorically aren’t influenced by Klaxons or any other such glowstick wielding outfit clogging the scene, saying: “We were doing what we’re doing before Klaxons even came out. We’re electronic odd-sock pop-rock”
Quizzed as to what their debut album will sound like, Faley continued: “We’ll incorporate all our many different styles and genres. It’ll have a lot of the songs we play at gigs but new songs as well. I actually had a dream that the Avalanches saw us and said they really liked how our album sounded like something they did”
Check out Gigwise later this week for the full interview with Late of the Pier.

- Hmm, that shit they’ve already sold out one 8,000 capacity homecoming gig in April, and on the way to selling out another, 2 sold out nights at the Astoria, and 1 at the Manc Apollo. Not bad for a shit band. I await the announcement of the Late of the Pier headliner at Donnington this summer.... I could be waiting some time. Oh well!

- haha, Faley’s great.

- I think youll find late of the pier are set to be 10x bigger than The ENemy , I mean what band gets their debut album signed on to the same label as the beatles and coldplay ? ahumm late of the pier
