Smoking ban flouting singer John Lydon has revealed that The Sex Pistols never actually made any money until their reunion Filthy Lucre tour of 1996.
Despite number one singles and a hit album, the wrinkly rocker says the seminal outfit never saw a penny for two decades.
He said: "I love the money. But do you know how broke the Pistols were? Until that '96 reunion tour we never got a pay-off at all. We never saw a penny."
In tenuously related news, a pair of Sex Pistols tickets for their Glasgow show on Sunday have reportedly sold for 1pence a piece on eBay. KERCHING!
