Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon proved that he is still a very naughty boy, by lighting up a cigarette onstage at the Brixton Academy on Wednesday night.
The aging rocker not only flouted the smoking ban himself, he also called on the audience to light up too.
He sneered: "I can't believe you lot aren't smoking! What kind of country is this if you can't even have a smoke?"
According to reports in today’s tabloids, Mr Rotten and his other band members were also spotted smoking backstage.
Lydon now looks certain to be fined for breaking the law. He follows in the footsteps of The Rolling Stone who smoked at the 02 Arena this summer.

Ooooooo he’s ****in well ’ard him!!
- Good on him. He can afford to put his finger(s) up to the stupid law.

- Good for him and the audience. What right had the government to tell you what to do on private property.

- Brilliant. As he said himself, I can’t believe more of us haven’t got the balls to stand up to this nanny state bulls**t.

- Good for him who gave the right for Ash to be health minister telling us what we can do and can not do
