Fans Plead With Amy Winehouse To Quit Tour

92% of Gigwise readers vote in favour...

Gigwise has been flooded with yet more messages from Amy Winehouse fans in the wake of her disastrous Birmingham NIA show, who are now calling on the troubled singer to axe her UK tour.

In a poll which we launched on the site this morning, a massive 92% of readers who voted said that she should pull out of the tour and seek help.

Those calling on her to quit the nationwide jaunt, include fans who already have tickets to her show in Glasgow tonight and her other remaining UK dates.

One reader, simply known as Kelano, wrote: “She shouldn’t have been on stage last night, she is not in a fit state to perform but she should be advised and cared for by the people around her and any real fan would prefer to see her shows postponed.”

Another, Lisa Burford, says Winehouse needs to sort out her ways, writing: “I was there at last nights concert in Birmingham, it was like watching ’car crash TV’ - it was such a shame because in the rare moments she seemed to pull herself together you could see her brilliance. She needs help!”

Several readers are blaming Winehouse’s management company, one wrote:  “What a waste of money. It looks like she was forced by her management so they didn’t have to pay back ticket prices.”

Reader S Parry seems to sum up the general feeling of fans, writing: “Please cancel this tour so she doesn’t embarrass herself further! I was at the gig last night and it was the worst I have ever been to. I left after 20 minutes as I couldn’t bear to listen to Amy. I have never left a gig early and to say I am disappointed doesn’t even come close. There are a lot of unhappy fans out there who were willing her to do well at the start of the night and it just turned into a disaster. Amy truly has an amazing talent it’s just such a shame.”

  • Rob, you were clearly at a different concert to me. It was awful! She should never have got on that stage last night and while I disagree with the fact people booed her, i do understand why they did. That concert was under half full near the end so clearly many people had the same view as me. It was a poor show. It’s a real shame as it had the potential to be amazing! I’m disappointed more than anything as are thousands of other people...

  • Any time a person with diagnosed bi-polar disorder can make a strong effort at life, we should remember that everything is ten times as hard for them. God bless this girl. If she keeps her promise to her Dad and stops drinking before concerts, she’ll do O.K. This guy Blake seems to have her under his thumb; he’s criminal.
