Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway To Heaven’ is expected to make its debut in the UK singles charts this Sunday.
The song – which originally appeared on the bands untitled forth album 36 years ago – features on the band’s digitally re-mastered greatest hits compilation, ‘Mothership,’ which was released on Monday (November 12th).
The song, which despite its popularity never received a release as a single, currently stands at number 56 on the midweek singles charts and is expected to climb higher before the weeks end.
A number of the band’s songs are expected to feature on this week’s singles countdown since a change to the chart’s rules allowed downloads to become chart eligible.
Interest in the band has continued to grow since they announced their one-off show at the O2 Arena in London on December 10th.
