Jay-Z has landed his 10th number one album on the Billboard Top-200 in America.
The US rappers new album, ‘American Gangster,’ sold 425,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Jay-Z’s triumph means that he now joins Elvis as the second most successful artist ever on the Billboard Chart. The Beatles currently hold the all-time number one's record with nineteen.
Last week’s number one, the Eagles, fell to number two in this weeks charts with their album, ‘Long Road To Ruin.’
Meanwhile, Britney Spears first album for three years, ‘Blackout,’ fell five places to number seven after suffering a 70% drop in sales compared to the first week.
Spears was only about to shift 87,000 copies of the album last week, reports Nielsen SoundScan.
