X-Factor winner Leona Lewis looks set to take the UK charts by storm next week as her debut album gets its official release.
According to sales figures, ‘Spirit’ is already outselling the Spice Girls greatest hits – which is also out next Monday (November 19th) - by six copies to one.
The current sales rate will see Lewis overtake Arctic Monkeys as the biggest selling pre-release of the year, reports the Mirror.
Julian Monaghan, the head of music buying at Amazon .co.uk, said: "This is an incredible result for Leona Lewis. When you look at our most pre-ordered artist in previous years, it has been the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and Dido.
“These artists went on to sell millions of copies of their albums worldwide,” he added.
Depite winning the reality TV series over a year ago, a reported 300,000 copies of ‘Spirit’ have already been shipped to high street retailers.
