50 Cent has stood by his decision not to quit the music industry after getting trounced in the chart battle with Kanye West.
The rapper – real name Curtis Jackson – had said before he released ‘Curtis’ that he would quit music if Kanye’s ‘Graduation’ beat him to number one. However, when it did, Fiddy responded by announcing fresh tour dates.
Fiddy insists that down to his intrinsic fighting spirit, he could not quit the business. He explains: “I don’t know if it’s possible for a rapper to retire, rappers are like fighters.
“They condition themselves to be the best. All rappers think they’re the best. And they are just waiting for everyone else to recognise they are the best. You’ll see them come back and back.”
