Muse and Gym Class Heroes were both big winners at last night’s mtvU Woodie Awards.
The event took place at the hallowed surroundings of New York’s Roseland Ballroom and saw Muse scoop the prestigious ‘Best Performing Woodie.’

Gym Class Heroes walked away with the ‘Woodie of the Year’ gong beating Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse – the latter of which pulled out of the ceremony due to visa problems.
Other winners on the night were The Academy Is… (Viral Woodie), Stella by Starlight (Best Music on Campus), Spoon (The Alumni Woodie), Say Anything (Best Video Woodie) and Boys Like Girls (The Breaking Woodie).
Spank Rock and The Academy Is… and Rilo Kiley were amongst those who performed live, while Annie Lennox, Fall Out Boy, Lupe Fiasco and Q-Tip dished out awards.
