John Lydon: The Eagles Are Irrelevant

John Lydon has hit out at The Eagles on the week the Californian rockers hit the top spot on both sides of The Atlantic.
The Sex Pistols legend has previously admitted that acts like The Eagles first inspired his band to form back in the late seventies, as a direct reaction to melodic rock outfits that dominated the charts.
These feeling still ring true for Lydon. He said: "They're (The Eagles) irrelevant. A band like that doesn't write songs that mean anything. We're the Charge of the Light Brigade, with decent generals, right?"
Clearly on a roll, Lydon took time to take a swipe at that other musical institution – teen guitar-pop group McFly.
He rambled on to The Telegraph: “McFly, hahaha. Is all that really still going on? It's all dippy and Blue Peter - done with sticky-backed plastic. And you've all rolled over for it. We didn't back then. What's wrong with you lot?"

AND you’re a twat for having a go at McFly, just cos you saw em on Blue Peter once?! Since when has it been a bad thing to make guitar music accessible to kids, particularly as 14+ gigs are too few and far between these days? Outl4w were on Blue Peter once and went on to become arguably the best young punk band in the UK. McFly have had 7 number 1 singles cos they make consistently great pop music. WTF’s wrong with that, you dickhead?
