Lily Allen has been signed up to front a new TV show on the BBC next spring.
‘Lily Allen And Friends,’ will air on the broadcaster’s entertainment channel, BBC3, and will be based on social networking websites.
Like Myspace – which helped launch Allen’s career – viewers will be able to become Allen’s virtual friend by signing up online. They will then be able to pose questions for the guests on her show.
Allen’s online friends will also form the audience for the show and will be able to sign up for behind-the-scenes footage.
In a statement Allen said: "I'm so excited that BBC3 are giving me this chance. It's something I intend to have lots of fun with and I have some great ideas for the show."
BBC3 controller, Danny Cohen described Allen as an “important voice of her generation.”
"Lily Allen And Friends will have its own unique identity as the audience will be intrinsic to the show's content via social networking," he explained.
"Lily launched herself on the web and is the perfect host for this exciting new show."
The launch date for the programme has yet to be confirmed.
