Babyshambles Were Warned About Pete Doherty Drugs Video

Babyshambles’ Drew McConnell has revealed that the band were warned in advance about video footage which showed Pete Doherty injecting heroin.

The bass player said, however, that they were not aware until it was published on Tuesday (November 6th) that the video was only shot at Doherty's home in Wiltshire last Friday (November 3rd).

"We heard they [The Sun] were going to run a picture the day before, but I assumed it was going to be dug up old footage," the bass player said.

"When you've just come out of rehab and trying to stay clean with all your might, then some **** comes round your house with a bag of stuff and a cameraphone, it must be hard to stop yourself," McConnell told NME.

Doherty has issued an apology to "the medical staff, fans and wellwishers who have helped and encouraged his progress in fighting his addiction to heroin."

The singer is understood to have entered a voluntary rehab course following the relapse in order to once again attempt to beat his addiction problems.

Because the rehab course is voluntary the band’s forthcoming arena tour is expected to go ahead as planned.
