The blueprint of jittery, angular indie has been somewhat overdone, but Look See Proof's natural exuberance and way with a tune often overcomes their generic stylings. One of the hardest-working bands around, their previous single 'Start Again' started making waves but follow-up 'Local Hero' is unlikely to advance their cause too much further. More stop than start, its constant pauses kill the momentum every time it threatens to get started.
Acoustic b-side 'Make Me Someone' is a lifeless dirge, but a live version of 'Start Again' at Glastonbury perfectly captures what Look See Proof are capable of when they get it right.
Released 12/11/07 on Weekender.
