Demands have been made to the police to put Pete Doherty behind bars after a video emerged of him allegedly injecting heroin shortly after last week’s MTV Awards.
The Sun newspaper, who funnily enough owns exclusive rights to the mobile phone video, has called on the Crown Prosecution Service, the Home Office, Ministry of Justice and the Judicial Communications Office to lock Pete away. However, the campaign has so far been to no avail.
Ever the shit stirrers, they handed a copy of the paper in to the Salisbury Police Station yesterday morning. Inspector Dave McCullin said: “We are very grateful to The Sun for bringing this matter to our attention. We will investigate immediately.”
The newspaper has since been ringing round the various departments calling for hardline action against the Babyshambles man.
The Crown Prosecution Service said upon being interrogated: “We have charged Peter Doherty nine times since February 2006 with possessing drugs.
“Each time, evidence has been placed before the courts. Sentencing is a matter for the courts.”
Despite the paper’s demands, some are speculating the authenticity of the video, saying that Pete is missing a tattoo on his neck – hence, suggesting that it is an old clip.
