Johnny Cash’s eldest daughter has confirmed that she is set to undergo surgery for a brain tumour.
52-year-old Rosanne Cash, who like her father is also a country singer, says that the condition is “rare but benign” and that she hopes to make a full recovery after surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital.
The tumour has forced her to cancel a string of North American live shows this winter, which she hopes to rearrange for next spring.
Rosanne Cash’s latest long-player, ‘Black Cadillac’, dealt directly with her legendary father’s death four years ago.
She is critically acclaimed Stateside having won a Grammy in 1985 and topped the country chart an impressive 11 times.
