Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has said that he was overwhelmed by the demand for tickets to see Led Zeppelin reform.
More than one million people from around the world applied for just 20,000 tickets to see the band reform for a one-off show at the O2 Arena in London on December 10th.
"I knew there would be a demand for tickets but I hadn't expected that sort of overwhelming demand,” Page said. “It's wonderful that people hold Zeppelin in that sort of regard."
Page also hinted in an interview with the Mirror that their was the prospect for more shows, saying that, “at the moment” there are only plans for the one show.
“That's a bit unfortunate for all the people that would have liked to have seen us, but I can understand why some of the other members don't want to be touring," he explained.
The guitarist revealed that the band initially reconvened for a rehearsal in “May or June” to see how they’d get along.
“Straight away it was boom!" he revealed. "It's amazing, daunting, harrowing, beautiful - and it's a one-night stand. And I've learned that nothing is impossible."
