If Kings of Convenience is your Hot chocolate, The Whitest Boy Alive would be your cream. Erlend Oye, the vocalist with his fingers in both pies, takes the time to give us a second album from the latter with ‘Burning’ as the first release. They modestly produce their music through Modular records letting it talk for itself. The incisive lyrics are repeated but with his soothing and sublime voice he could be singing anything for all we care. With a knocking effect drumbeat to draw us in, a subtle bass line and a melodic guitar riff Oye introduces his other project in a promising way.
Released 05/11/07 on Modular.
