This latest and long coming single from Sons & Daughters is a tune and a half. As huskier Siouxie Sioux style vocals smash the lyrics into your face and rub the jangly guitars and punked up drums in hard. ‘Gilt Complex’ is laden with catchy riffs and great little hooks that’ll make this a staple song for every indie club up and down the country. B-side ‘Killer’ is just as good with a brooding bass line and scuzzy sounds that go surprisingly well with the lighter vocals which float on the surface of the lo-fi feel to this song then soar as they chorus kicks in hard. This single is fantastic in every sense- the lyrics are great, the music grabs you and will make you move and shake… Sons & Daughters are back with a very cool vengeance.
Released 29/10/07 on Domino.
