Mick Jagger has said that the Rolling Stones are hoping to announce a number of new tour dates for 2008.
Jagger made the announcement during a surprise visit to the inaugural Rajasthan International Folk Festival in Jodhpur, India.
He told the Indian Times that the band were considering shows in India and other countries across Asia.
The Rolling Stones have only just completed their two year long Bigger Bang tour which concluded with a three night residency at the O2 Arena in London, in August.
Meanwhile, explaining his appearance at the festival last week, Jagger said that he was an "enthusiast for Indian music.”
He added: "I've listened to Bengali, Gujarati and Rajasthani folk music, and a festival like this gives a great platform to folk artists in a magnificent venue."
