Meat Loaf pulled out of last night’s gig at Birmingham’s NEC (November 2), blaming acute laryngitis on the cancellation.
It follows the surprise behaviour on Wednesday night when the heavyweight star abruptly ended his show in Newcastle telling the crowd that it would be his final show. Organisers blamed stress and exhaustion on the erratic move and claimed the Birmingham gig would go ahead.
However, the promises were not fulfilled, with Meat Loaf - real name Marvin Lee Aday - saying in a statement: "Performing for my fans is the most important thing in the world to me. Over the years, I've gone on stage with a broken foot and an arrhythmic heart.
"It was devastating having to come off stage in Newcastle but over time, I've reluctantly learned that I have to abide by what the doctors tell me to do."
The show has now been rearranged for November 29. All original tickets remain valid.
