Lily Allen and Keane performed together last night at a Warchild gig at London’s Brixton Academy.
Keane frontman fought off the illness which had blighted his performance in Manchester the night before, to play backing musician to Winehouse for a brief set.
Allen joked, “Hello we’re Keane!”, as they came onstage shortly before ten o’clock. They performed three songs together – ‘Smile’, ‘Littlest Things’ and Keane’s own ‘Everybody’s Changing’ - but admitted she was feeling a bit rusty from not performing recently.
After their pairing, Keane went on to perform their own seven song headline set, which featured the tracks ‘Crystal Ball’, ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and ‘Bedshaped.’
Earlier in the night, Pet Shop Boys, Teddy Thompson, Guillemots, The Magic Numbers and Brendon Benson all entertained the sold-out crowd. Sir Elton John and Rufus Wainwright delivered video messages of support for the cause.
