If you live in Nottingham don’t expect to see Arcade Fire playing live their again anytime soon after last night’s show.
Win Butler told the crowd that he’d never play the city again after being hit by one of several projectiles thrown at the stage.
The Canadian collective were playing ‘Neighbourhood #3 (Power Out)’ when he was hit in the face by what could have been either a bottle or a shoe.
According to drownedinsound he then changed the lyrics of the song to: "Where'd you go? / No seriously/ Where'd you go you ****er?"
The a second item was then thrown on stage during a encore of ‘Rebellion (Lies)’ which angered Butler even more.
He responded by telling the audience: "We'll never play Nottingham again."

- Travelled back to my home town from Shrewsbury for this very special gig with my 14 year old daughter in tow...such a shame that one or two missile throwing fools tried to ruin it...What is there motivation for such anti social behaviour? I felt ashamed that this happened in Nottingham and want to apologise to the band who were otherwise excellent despite the best efforts of these cowards, who hide in the dark and throw missiles at innocent people and performers.

- no one deserves to be bottled (except johnny borrell)! just glad they weren’t shooting at them after all it is nottingham!

- does anyone know the name of the band that played just before arcade fire??
thanks
