Heavyweight singer Meat Loaf was forced to cut short a concert in Newcastle last night after taking ill.
The Bat Out Of Hell star abandoned the gig at the Metro Arena after 60 minutes while performing ‘Paradise on the Dashboard Light’ and reportedly told the crowd that it would be his last ever show.
However, his management have denied that it will be his final show and blamed exhaustion and stress on the cancellation and outburst.
Tour promoter Andrew Miller told the BBC that he hopes Loaf’s show in Birmingham tomorrow will still go ahead, saying: “I've spoken to his doctor, and it's clear it's just exhaustion and stress. It's not his last ever gig, that's for sure.
"He'll be fine. We hope that 24 hours rest will get him better."
In 2003, Meat Loaf – real name Marvin Lee Aday – suffered a collapsed lung while onstage at Wembley Arena.
