Morrissey Kicks Support Act Off Tour Add to My Fav Bands List

Morrissey has kicked suport act Kristeen Young off his tour after she made "profane comments" about the singer on stage.

Although no details of the comments have been made public, Young defended herself on her Myspace page after being chucked off the tour following Tuesday gig at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.

She said, "We have been asked to leave because of something I said on stage.

"Unfortunately, the statement has been perceived as being profane (when, actually, one of the two words in question is a scientific term found in junior high, health class text books, and the other word, I feel most would agree, is lightweight slang) or defamatory.

"What I said was part of a thread of stage statements I made throughout our set. They were metaphorical and overstated to make an artistic point. The 'offending' statement, in particular, was in no way a literal statement, and was very much in keeping with the tone of my writing in general."

Enough with the excuses already, just tell us what you said!

  • I feel bad for Kristeen because I understand that Morrissey fans were brutal throughout the tour - it’s extremely difficult for any band to support another band that is so loved by their fans, such as Morrissey. But, her statement was extremely disrespectful to Morrissey, he’s her boss for goodness sake! Would any of us say this about our boss to an audience full of people there to see him? It was a stupid, stupid move on her part and unfortunately she must suffer the consequence

  • What a discrace. I listened for years to Smiths lyrics ’who will swallow whom’ on Handsome devil..is that too much?, and for Morissey to kick some act off tour when they mentioned that the afore mentioned gave good head, is utter crap. Morrissey, go grab a bacon sarnie fella! I haven’t purchased a single from the man or album since Suedehead.. well I wonder...;-)
