Actor and martial arts expert Jackie Chan has recorded the official song for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the star has revealed.
Speaking in a blog on his official website, Chan said that the song, titled ‘We Are Ready’, took just three hours to record when he hit a studio in Beijing.
Sung entirely in Chinese, there are also plans to record an English language version of the track.
The rather cutting lyrics in the chorus read: "Waiting year after year/ We can see into the future/ Together with hard work and sweat/ We've created the five different colours." Genius.
The track was written by the acclaimed Peter Kam who recently scored the soundtrack to the film Isabella.
