Russell Watson Seriously Ill With Brain Tumour

Opera singer Russell Watson is to undergo emergency surgery to remove a brain tumour.

The singer was admitted to Alexandra private hospital in Cheshire after falling ill yesterday (October 24th) whilst recording, a spokesperson confirmed.

Richard Thompson, the singer’s agent, described Watson’s tumour as “major,” adding that “our thoughts are with Russell and his family,” reports the BBC.

Watson had emergency surgery in September 2006 to remove a benign brain tumour at St George's Hospital in South London.

Originally a factory worker from Salford, the opera singer has gone on to sell four million albums worldwide.
