12 Stone Toddler - 'Candles On The Cake'

Having heard their previous work, there’s something all too familiar about 'Candles On The Cake,' the second single from vaudevillian Brighton boys 12 Stone Toddler. As quivering organ grooves collide once more with orderly, thudding bass, you find yourself wondering when the circus-rockers are going to pull something else out of the hat. Over the top of this queasy ride, vocalist Chris Otero boasts of fighting off the onset of age. Somehow one doubts the Toddler’s gimmicky appeal will fare so well with time.
