The tabloid’s match made in heaven has become reality with the news that Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse are to record a song with each other.
The track called ‘1939 Returning’ was written recently following Doherty’s departure from rehab after a six week stint.
Speaking to John Kennedy on XFM Doherty said of his time out of rehab: "To be honest it’s just good to be at liberty again, well fingers crossed.
“We're just writing some new songs actually '1939 Returning' is one.”
He added: "I’m going to try and get Miss Winehouse to help me with it hopefully. They're putting it up on the internet next week I s'pose but I don’t know."
Drugs anthem of the year anyone?
