Beach Break Live Festival Turns Down Dragon's Den Offer

    They get better deal...

October 16, 2007 by Jason Gregory

The organisers of Beach Break Live have turned down a lucrative offer from an investor on the BBC’s Dragons Den programme.

Despite creating a wealth of interest on the popular BBC programme – which resulted in a £50,000 investment from entrepreneur Peter Jones - Celia Norowzian and Ian Forshew have revealed that they no longer have plans to work with the business mogul.

Instead, Beach Break Live will now go ahead in 2008 in partnership with Outgoing Ltd – a student event and travel specialist.

Since the organisers were filmed on Dragons Den, the Spring Break festival - which targets students - has gone on to receive a nomination for Best New Festival at The UK Festival Awards.

Next year’s event, which will see the site expand from this year’s 2000 only capacity will take place from June 9th-12th in Polzeath, in Cornwall.

Despite losing out on the deal, in a statement Jones wished the festival good luck for the future, adding “they have my number if they need advice.”
