Michael Jackson has been ordered to pay $175,000 to cover the costs that his former law firm accumulated when they successfully sued the singer.
Jackson was sued by Ayscough & Marar – the law firm which represented him during his 2005 child molestation trial – after he failed to pay them the overdue legal costs from the 2005 trial.
Ayscough & Marar claim that they successfully prevented certain information from being released to the public and lawyers during the case, reports AP.
Superior Court Judge James Chalfant's order yesterday means that Jackson now has outstanding fees of $430,000 with the legal company.
Despite the growing costs, Jackson's attorney Thomas Mundell said that they were “very happy with today's outcome."
Jackson was acquitted of all charges at the 2005 trial.
