‘Think Fast’ is exactly what a fight between electro and rock would sound like - a hard, fast and infectious sonic punch of noise packing space age disco sounds and ‘awright geezer’ vocals. It is a ****ing brilliant tune to jolt and shake yourself to on the dance floor because it’s held together so well and isn’t as repetitive and is far more ballsy than your average nu-rave number. This song is a sure fire hit! ‘Can The Freedom Regulate The Volume?’ is a more melodic and a slower song, more reminiscent of Pulp especially in the vocals. It is quite a change in terms of the attitude of ‘Think Fast’ but it’s still cool and is put together just as well.
Bolt Action Five know how to write good songs with fantastic lyrics and a ‘we’re so cool’ attitude that they can actually pull off and because they are a band who know what they’re doing, if they keep it up they’ll stick around long after the current scene is dead.
Released 15/10/07 on This Is Fake DIY.
