Digital music sales are expected to grow only 50-per-cent this year, following an 80-per-cent spike in 2006.
According to Verdict Research the (legal) digital market will be worth £163m by the end of 2007, marking a slow-down in growth.
However, Verdict predicts next year will provide another rush as companies such as Nokia and HMV seek to compete with Apple’s dominance in the area.
It predicts the market to rise to a £600m worth by 2012, according to the Independent.
