Led Zeppelin's timeless 1970s masterpiece 'Stairway To Heaven' has been voted the best pop song of all time, pipping U2 to the post, in the Virgin Radio poll.
Over 20,000 music fans voted in the poll that sees John Lennon in sixth place with 'Imagine', although (and you may have to sit down for this, it's a shocker) not one Beatles record made it into the top 10! ('Let It Be' is at no.11 though).
The top 20 also includes Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' (7), 'Brown Eyed Girl' by Van Morrison (12) and Human League's party favourite 'Don't You Want Me' (18).
The poll also revealed the spangly old 1980s as the most popular decade - stacking up more nominations in the top 500 than any other.
Virgin Radio DJ, Madness frontman and general bonviveur Suggs was thrilled to hear that the 1980s had proved so popular, "It's great to be back in fashion, although personally I've never felt like anything but a trend-setter," he quipped. "The 80s produced loads of great songs from a host of talented bands, from The Specials and The Police to The Jam and U2 - and of course Madness... although how Baggy Trousers was only at number 486 I don't know."
