Beyonce To Escape Strict Muslim Dress Code

Beyonce Knowles will not have to adhere to a strict dress code when she performs in Indonesia next month (November 1st), according to the concerts organisers.

Beyonce reportedly moved her performance to Indonesia - the world's most populous Muslim country - from Malaysia earlier this week in protest to strict Muslim dress requirements which had been implemented on previous performers.

A spokesperson for the concert – which will now take place in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta – said: "I expect Indonesians to see this in a positive light. She is a great singer and her stage act is entertaining. Why should we say no to the way she dresses?"

Nia Zulkarnaen, added that their had been no request from Muslim groups or authorities asking for the singer to adhere to a specific dress code, reports Reuters.

"Praise be to God, there has been no such demand. They realize it's positive entertainment for the youth," she explained.

Earlier this year, Gwen Stefani agreed to wear less revealing clothing at a performance in Malaysia after a Muslim group said that “her performance and her attire are not suitable for our culture.”
