The Spice Girls Bottle Out Of Westlife Chart Battle

    They push their album back...

October 05, 2007 by Scott Colothan

The Spice Girls have seemingly bottled out of their chart war with Westlife.

The two pop groups were set to go head-to-head with the release of their respective greatest hits albums on November 5.

But now, in a turnaround The Spice Girls’ label has confirmed that their record will be released a week later on November 12.

The two pop acts went head-to-head back in 2000 when Westlife’s ‘Coast To Coast’ annihilated The Spice Girls’ ‘Forever’ in sales terms, shifting a massive 163,000 copies more.

Despite apparently getting cold feet about the album, The Spice Girls have been all conquering on the ticket sales front, with their London dates selling out in a mere 38 seconds.
