Prosecutors in Los Angeles have confirmed that Phil Spector will be retried for murder.
The news came during a hearing in LA although no date for a retrial has yet been set.
According to the Associated Press Spector will seek a new legal team for the retrial, the fourth to defend him in court since the proceedings began.
During the trial, which ended last month with the jury deadlocked at 10 to 2 in favour of a guilty verdict, Spector fired one legal team while another resigned.
