Try to imagine the sensibilities of Pink Floyd, the space rock feel of Spiritualised, the vocals of Ian Brown circa Stone Roses (like what you’re hearing..?)and you have something starting to resemble The People’s Revolutionary Choir. So-called pysch-rock is back, and this new six-piece group from London do it with some style. The songs are grand, sweeping you in, but do so in a way that you don’t notice it happening. New single ‘Do You Feel Like I Do’ is a great example of their style, guitars shimmy and shiver, while drum beats burst through and synths create the other-worldly feel. It’s anthemic and melodic but not overdone. Great band to catch live, the hype surrounding them only to get bigger, with their electric performances and cool sound.
Released 08/10/07 on Weekender.
