The Rolling Stones made over half a billion dollars on their Bigger Bang world tour, according to their tour producer.
Between the autumn of 2005 and their final show at London’s O2 Arena on August 26th, the band netted exactly $558,255,524.
Michael Cohl, the band’s long-time tour producer, also told Billboard that the band’s shows attracted a paid attendance of 4,680,000 people.
Despite its phenomenal success, the 144 date Bigger Bang tour drew its fair share of problems, including, guitarist Keith Richards’ fall from a palm tree in April 2006.
"It was a long tour, but more than anything it was fantastic," explained Cohl. "We had to overcome a lot; this was like Homer's Odyssey. The accident in Fiji was part of this tour, it's not like it was some previous tour. There were all sorts of difficulties to overcome and it turned out to be just one amazing triumph."
