Morrissey has revealed that he plans to record his new album later this year.
Speaking ahead of his ten night residency in Los Angeles the former Smiths man said that all the songs are already in place for the new record.
"The plan is to make a new album after this tour. It's absolutely written and completely ready," Morrissey told the BBC.
Morrissey’s residency at the Palladium in Los Angeles comes at the end of his 177 date world tour which will conclude on November 2nd in Washington.
The singer revealed that he has found time to write the new record over the last eighteen months whilst travelling – but added that it will still contain a personal message.
"You are bound to pick up influences whose lyrics are famed for incorporating social and political commentary," he explained. "But when you create and write it's very important to be yourself and that's what I've always tried to do. I'm outside the mainstream, and the mainstream never let me in."
The album is expected to be released in September 2008.
