No Phil Spector Retrial Expected Until 2008

    After Lead Attorney steps aside...

    September 29, 2007 by C Taylor

Phil Spector is unlikely to face a retrial for the murder of Lana Clarkson until at least Spring next year after the legendary record producer's lead attorney revealed he has parted company from his client.

Declaring he had "signed up for one tour of duty, not two" Roger J. Rosen announced he will not be going to court again after a mistrial was declared on Wednesday.

This means, despite the Los Angeles District Attorney's office stated intent to retry the 67-year-old immediately, a new legal team for Spector would necessitate a prolonged delay.

Another Spector lawyer Christopher J. Ploud, who has yet to decide whether he is staying on or not, states, "It would take at least six months for any lawyer to get ready. This is a very complicated, serious homicide case."
