The line-up for Jools Holland’s annual Hootenanny has been confirmed. The nimble fingered pianist (that’s pianist kids!) hosts the show that only friendless losers watch live. Obviously though you might want to tape it and watch it when you get in and are still coming down.
The line up features the usual wide array of shite but there is some good stuff in there. Eric Clapton, arguably the best guitarist like ever, crawls out of the woodwork to grace us with his his “slow hand” while Franz Ferdinand and Basement Jaxx provide ample support.
The show goes out on BBC2 at 11.10pm on New Year’s Eve.
The full line up is:
Amy Winehouse
Jamie Cullum
Basement Jaxx
Franz Ferdinand
Eric Clapton
Natasha Bedingfield
Mavis Staples
Ian Hunter (Mott The Hoople)
Paul Carrack (Roxy Music, Squeeze, Nick Lowe & Mike and the Mechanics)
