James Ford has revealed that a drunken game of football with the Arctic Monkeys was the reason behind Simian Mobile Disco’s recent gig cancellations.
Ford was taken to hospital in LA and the band were forced to pull out of two gigs in Bristol and Leeds on their recent UK tour.
He told 6Music: "We were kind of at the end of our American tour on Sunday and met up with some friends.
We all got pretty hammered, played football in the car park and I ended up breaking my collarbone!
"It's quite embarrassing. I had had a beer in my hand and it was really stupid. The unfunny side of it is that we had to cancel some gigs.
“It's kind of painful, but I've got some Vicodin to help me out."
The duo will resume the tour at the Scala in London on tonight (September 27).
