A woman claiming to be James Brown’s oldest daughter will appear in court later today (September 24th) to fight for a stake of the late singer’s estate.
Retired flight attendant, LaRhonda Petitt, is one of three adults unnamed in Brown’s will who claim to have DNA evidence that they are his children.
"I've been walking around looking like this man for 45 years," explained Petitt. "I'm not talking no negative talk, I'm talking about what's right."
Petitt’s attorney, Jim Griffin, said that the judge now would go over the pending issues in the case.
Brown’s estate is currently being contested between his six adult children – who were all named by the late singer in his will.
The singer’s will has caused on going fractions since his tragic death on Christmas day last year, however, with a number of people claiming to be one of his children.
Petitt is expected to file a paternity action later today to legally establish that she is Brown's daughter, reports AP.
